We understand in a world where the pace of life can often feel overwhelming, taking care of our mental well-being has become more important than ever.

Mental Health Month is celebrated each year in the month of October in NSW - this year’s theme is “we all have a role to play.”

To recognise the importance of mental wellbeing and tying in with this year’s theme, we have planned a range of activities and ideas that will have a positive impact on the daily lives of our members, staff and community.

Community & Support

One of the key aspects of mental well-being is social connection. Loneliness and isolation can take a toll on our mental health.

To help provide a sense of community and an opportunity for our members to connect, we are offering a series of complimentary tea, coffee and refreshments at our centres;

  • Prince Alfred Park Pool - Friday 13 October at 11:00am.
  • Cook + Phillip Park Pool - Saturday 14 October at 10:00am
  • Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre - Saturday 14 October at 10:00am
  • Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool - Sunday 22 October at 10:00am
  • Victoria Park Pool - Thursday 26 October at 11:00am
  • Gunyama Park - Saturday 28 October at 10:00am

This is a great chance to share your fitness experiences, make new friends and build a strong support system.

Zumba Party

Group fitness classes play such an important role in promoting mental well-being. Beyond the physical benefits, these classes foster a sense of community and support.

In celebration of Mental Health Month, we're hosting a Friday afternoon Zumba class with a Halloween twist. This event offers more than just a fun workout to enhance your physical fitness, it's also a fantastic way to alleviate stress and elevate your mood.

This is your chance to embrace the spooky spirit of Halloween and dance your way to improved mental well-being. Join us on Friday 27 October at 5:30pm at Cook + Phillip Park Pool for a thrilling workout that combines the joy of dance with the excitement of the season.

Gratitude boxes

In celebration of October Mental Health Month, we're excited to introduce our Gratitude Box with a heart-warming twist.

At our reception area, you'll find the Gratitude Box filled with compliments and uplifting messages contributed by our community members. During your visit, take a moment to pick out a compliment from the box.

It's a small gesture that can brighten your day and remind you of the positivity that surrounds you. In a world often filled with stress and negativity, this Gratitude Box is our way of spreading kindness and fostering mental well-being.

Spin 4 Cancer

Sometimes the best way to improve your mental health is to do something wonderful for people who are less fortunate than us.

On Saturday 14 October at Gunyama Park, from 7am to 1pm, our dedicated instructors are generously donating their time to host back-to-back spinning classes.

No experience is necessary – just bring a water bottle, towel and let’s ride for a wonderful cause together.
