In support of Skin Cancer Awareness Month

To support Skin Cancer Awareness month, all outdoor pools will be giving away pocket-size tubes of sunscreen on Saturday 27 November.

Stock is limited to the first 100 customers through the doors.

Heading into Summer, it's important you stay sun safe, and Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide.

Here are 4 tips to remember when applying sunscreen;

  • Use a sunscreen with SPF 50+, and apply it at least 20mins before sun exposure. This is necessary to build a protective layer on your skin
  • Re-apply sunscreen at least every 2 hours or as needed after swimming, sweating, or towel drying
  • Use sunscreen even on cloudy days
  • Remember to apply to the often forgotten areas - ears, back of your hands, behind your knees, neck front and back, as well as the tops of your feet and ankles

Together, with clothing, a hat, shade and sunglasses, sunscreens provide a complimentary means for protecting your skin from the short and long term consequences of over exposure to sunlight (which include sunburn, premature ageing and skin cancer).
